Look Fresh and Smooth with Professional Microneedling in New York, NY
Microneedling is already a popular treatment for men and women at med spas across the country, but our New York City spa is proud to offer a cutting-edge advancement that enhances traditional microneedling with your own natural collagen and nutrients.
What is PRP Microneedling?
You may have heard of this treatment referred to as the “vampire facial” because it involves your own nutrient-rich blood. In the past, blood was spread across your face, giving rise to the nickname. Now, however, our med spa uses only the platelet-rich plasma (PRP), making the process more effective, less vampiric, and simple to offer as an add-on to your regular microneedling treatment.
The Process of Obtaining Natural PRP for Microneedling
PRP is created by drawing a small amount of your blood through a tiny 10 mL syringe containing acid citrate dextrose. The blood is then centrifuged (spun at high speeds in specialized equipment) for 10 minutes, separating the PRP from the platelet-poor plasma. The result is a nutrient-rich, completely natural serum used in conjunction with microneedling for deep penetration into the skin and more effective collagen rejuvenation.
How PRP Enhances Your Microneedling Results
If you’re looking for faster results with your skin rejuvenation treatments, PRP microneedling may be the better option for you. Because of the extra collagen used, microneedling with PRP creates more tightness in the skin and speeds up the healing process. You’ll notice:
- Reduced wrinkles and stretch marks
- Reduced acne scarring and skin discoloration
- Increased skin thickness
- Facial rejuvenation
- Enhanced skincare product absorption

Preparing for Your First PRP Microneedling Appointment
When you call to schedule a PRP treatment, our skincare specialists will incorporate the treatment into your personalized skincare plan and share specific instructions to follow before and after treatment for your safety and best results. Some general advice to prepare includes:
- Avoid direct sun exposure for at least one week prior to your appointment
- Do not tan in a bed for at least a week before treatment
- Avoid wearing makeup or moisturizer to your appointment
Once the procedure is finished, there may be some redness or irritation, so we’ll end with a soothing serum. We recommend arranging a ride home after the procedure, but you can put makeup on immediately after the treatment in case you need to camouflage any temporary redness. If the irritation lingers or you experience other symptoms, you can contact IN•GLO Med Spa for further care suggestions.
Is PRP Microneedling Safe?
Yes, PRP microneedling is as safe as traditional microneedling, and anyone who is eligible for one is eligible for both. Clients who should switch out microneedling treatments for an alternative med spa option include:
- Pregnant women
- Accutane patients
- Clients with certain skin conditions, such as facial eczema or rosacea
- Clients who scar easily or have a history of poor wound healing
- Anyone who has undergone skin radiation in the last 12 months
