What Is CoolSculpting?
CoolSculpting has quickly become one of the most popular—and innovative—nonsurgical fat-reduction procedures in the world. Essentially, technicians freeze your unwanted fat and sculpt it away for body contouring that is precise, accurate and painless. Experts and patients alike have praised the method for its astounding results, which come free of any surgery or downtime. The FDA-cleared body contouring treatment is perfect for eliminating that stubborn fat that won’t go away with extra exercise or dieting and is proven to be long-lasting. At IN•GLO Med Spa in New York City, our trained CoolSculpting clinicians approach the procedure holistically, which means they’ll work one-on-one with you to figure out the perfect treatment plan. Keep in mind that some people will undergo just one body contouring session, while others will find it useful to come in a few times to achieve the shape that’s right for them.
Is CoolSculpting Right for You?
The CoolSculpting fat-freezing procedure is FDA-cleared to eliminate fat from eight specific body regions, including the abdomen, flanks/sides, double chin, inner thighs, outer thighs and upper arms. The treatment is ideal for body contouring, so it isn’t necessarily geared toward extreme body weight transformation. If you’re a person who works out regularly, eats well and still struggles with fat deposits in certain problem areas, this is definitely the procedure for you, as it will allow you to modify your body to your exact specifications. If you’re still unsure about whether or not body contouring is right for you, call IN•GLO Med Spa to schedule a consultation with our CoolSculpting clinician at our New York City office. The clinician will take the time to discuss the reshaping process and determine what treatment is going to work best.
How Body Contouring Works
Once you’ve met with an IN•GLO Med Spa CoolSculpting expert, the actual procedure couldn’t be easier! The nonsurgical fat-reduction treatment is achieved through the use of a special CoolSculpting applicator designed for total optimization. The device sits atop a gel pad, which is affixed to the targeted area chosen by you and your CoolSculpting clinician. The system will isolate the problem area and freeze the surrounding fatty tissue, which the technician will then sculpt into your desired shape. During the procedure, you are free to read, check your email, listen to music or doze off, as the process will cause you little to no discomfort. The applicator used has built-in safety features, including sensors that are able to detect if the machine is making the skin too cold. If this happens, the device automatically shuts off until the area has heated back to room temperature. The system and procedure are noninvasive and require no anesthesia, downtime or significant recovery. Call IN•GLO Med Spa to schedule your free CoolSculpting consultation today!

Am I a good candidate for CoolSculpting?
If you wish to get rid of noticeable lumps or bulges in certain areas of your body, such as your abdomen and thighs, you may be an ideal CoolSculpting candidate. The CoolSculpting fat reduction procedure is specifically designed for the type of unwanted fat that is resistant to diet and exercise. Unlike bariatric surgery procedures, the CoolSculpting procedure is not a weight loss solution for obese people. However, CoolSculpting is a good nonsurgical alternative to liposuction, as it targets the same types of body fat cells. The best way to determine whether CoolSculpting is right for you is to request a one-on-one consultation with us so we can provide you with an assessment and answer all your questions about the procedure.
How long is each CoolSculpting session, and how many sessions do I need to achieve my desired results?
When we meet with you for your initial consultation, we will help you create a customized treatment plan tailored to your specific goals. The length of each CoolSculpting session will vary depending on how many areas of your body are being treated. Additional sessions may be necessary in order to achieve your individualized goals.
Are CoolSculpting results permanent? What happens to the fat?
CoolSculpting works by freezing, or crystallizing, unwanted fat cells, which your body then processes and eliminates for good.
Is CoolSculpting painful?
No, but you will feel pressure and intense cold during the first few minutes. This soon dissipates, allowing you to relax during the rest of your treatment. Many people read, watch videos, work on their laptop, or even take a nap during their CoolSculpting fat reduction procedure.
Is CoolSculpting safe?
The procedure is proven to be a safe and effective treatment for nonsurgical fat reduction. CoolSculpting is FDA cleared for the safe removal of fat cells in the abdomen and thigh areas. Over one million CoolSculpting treatments have been performed worldwide with great results.
Are there any major side effects?
You may experience sensations of deep pulling, tugging, pinching, numbness, or discomfort during your session. This is completely normal. Following the CoolSculpting procedure, common side effects include temporary numbness, redness, swelling, bruising, firmness, tingling, stinging, and pain in the area where treatment was administered. The CoolSculpting procedure is not for everyone. You should not have the procedure if you suffer from cryoglobulinemia or paroxysmal cold hemoglobinuria. The procedure is not a treatment for obesity. As with any medical procedure, ask us if the CoolSculpting procedure is right for you prior to scheduling a session.
How soon can I return to normal activities after my treatment?
Since the CoolSculpting procedure is completely nonsurgical, patients typically can resume normal activities almost immediately after treatment. In fact, patients often return to work as soon as their CoolSculpting session is over.
When will I begin to notice results?
While you may start to see changes as quickly as three weeks after your treatment, you will experience the most dramatic results after two months. However, your body will continue to flush out crystallized fat cells for up to four to six months after treatment.
