CoolSculpting FAQs

Am I a good candidate for CoolSculpting?

If you wish to get rid of noticeable lumps or bulges in certain areas of your body, such as your abdomen and thighs, you may be an ideal CoolSculpting candidate. The CoolSculpting fat reduction procedure is specifically designed for the type of unwanted fat that is resistant to diet and exercise. Unlike bariatric surgery procedures, the CoolSculpting procedure is not a weight loss solution for obese people. However, CoolSculpting is a good nonsurgical alternative to liposuction, as it targets the same types of body fat cells. The best way to determine whether CoolSculpting is right for you is to request a one-on-one consultation with us so we can provide you with an assessment and answer all your questions about the procedure.  Be sure to take advantage of our CoolSculpting promotion too!

How long is each CoolSculpting session, and how many sessions do I need to achieve my desired results?

When we meet with you for your initial consultation, we will help you create a customized treatment plan tailored to your specific goals. The length of each CoolSculpting session will vary depending on how many areas of your body are being treated. Additional sessions may be necessary in order to achieve your individualized goals.  Be sure to have a peek at our gallery to see Coolsculpting before and after pictures!

Are CoolSculpting results permanent? What happens to the fat?

CoolSculpting works by freezing, or crystallizing, unwanted fat cells, which your body then processes and eliminates for good.

Is CoolSculpting painful?

No, but you will feel pressure and intense cold during the first few minutes. This soon dissipates, allowing you to relax during the rest of your treatment. Many people read, watch videos, work on their laptop, or even take a nap during their CoolSculpting fat reduction procedure.

Is CoolSculpting safe?

The procedure is proven to be a safe and effective treatment for nonsurgical fat reduction. CoolSculpting is FDA cleared for the safe removal of fat cells in the abdomen and thigh areas. Over one million CoolSculpting treatments have been performed worldwide with great results.

Are there any major side effects?

You may experience sensations of deep pulling, tugging, pinching, numbness, or discomfort during your session. This is completely normal. Following the CoolSculpting procedure, common side effects include temporary numbness, redness, swelling, bruising, firmness, tingling, stinging, and pain in the area where treatment was administered. The CoolSculpting procedure is not for everyone. You should not have the procedure if you suffer from cryoglobulinemia or paroxysmal cold hemoglobinuria. The procedure is not a treatment for obesity. As with any medical procedure, ask us if the CoolSculpting procedure is right for you prior to scheduling a session.

How soon can I return to normal activities after my treatment?

Since the CoolSculpting procedure is completely nonsurgical, patients typically can resume normal activities almost immediately after treatment. In fact, patients often return to work as soon as their CoolSculpting session is over.

When will I begin to notice results?

While you may start to see changes as quickly as three weeks after your treatment, you will experience the most dramatic results after two months. However, your body will continue to flush out crystallized fat cells for up to four to six months after treatment.
